Obama for President

Obama for president! Obama for president!
The perfect White House has got
A new black resident

Obama we say, Obama all the way
Thank you America for voting
Obama today

This day in history
We have gained victory
How did a black man do it?
It`s still a mystery

Triumph at last
Our fears have passed
No more racial divide
Color or class

It was ordained
It`s no accident, that today
Barack Obama, an African-American
Is crowned president

Join the cheer, celebrate the fun
Open your eyes, a new era has begun

Our forefathers have smiled upon you
Because they see
What you have set out to do

To bring the change so badly needed
And to heed the cry of those
Who so desperately pleaded

Your steps are paved with gold
You have fulfilled the dreams
Of those from old
You brought forth a legacy
For future generations to behold

Obama for president! Obama for president!
The perfect White House has got
A new black resident

**I wrote this poem four years ago after President Obama`s first election victory. Please pass it on as read and help spread the good news as we continue to celebrate another victory for our black president.

Who Is My Mother?

Who is my mother?
My mother is that great
Black woman
Who have made a difference in history
My mother is that woman who is still
Making an impact in our lives today

Who is my mother?
My mother is that woman
Who never aborts her child
But carried it into
this world because
She loved and cared for it.

Who is my mother?
You are my mother
I love you mother
I honor you mother
I respect you mother
I will never abuse you mother
Because you are a treasure, mother
Like a jewel you are precious mother

Who is my mother?
It doesn`t matter
Color, race, or religion
My mother has given birth
To many generations

Who is my mother?
My mother is that gift to
A man
She makes his life complete
Yet, sometimes he doesn`t even realize
The great role she plays
 In his world

Who is my mother?
Wherever you are
Whoever you are
There will never be
 Another mother
Like you my mother
