Aren`t You Women?

Aren`t you women
Weren`t you loved and
Cared for by those you called family

How dare they be grieved?
How dare they ask you
To leave?
To not be a part of
This society, your family

You have every right
Like most of us do
How dare they treat you
The way they do

You are a mother, a sister
The mistress of a mister
You are the root of a tree
You were given lives
So you may give life
So who dare interfere with
God`s flow of life

You are strong
Your strength is
uncontestable
You are smart
But they say you are not sociable
Aren`t you humans?
And if they treat you
Like animals
Aren`t we all God`s creatures

You look sad
But tears is a language
God understands
So clear your eyes
Of the tears
Throw them on the ground
Throw them at the dehumanizers
Throw them here, there
And everywhere

Some day you will find peace, so be strong
Because it won`t be long
They will want to smile
With you
They will want to hug you, touch you
And know who you are
But pity their feeble minds
If they don`t remember
That you were that little girl, that woman
One who was never cared for, loved
Or accepted to be a part of
A family
In their neglectful society
