Value Yourself

Value yourself
It`s all I can say
Value yourself, everyday
Value yourself
No matter what
Other people might say

Start a journey
And value every step
All the way

Don`t look back
There`s no value back there
There`s no value back then
On going forward
And taking the value
Of your future
Into your hands

We are children of value
Remember
We were born in sin
But because God valued us
He still keeps us on the earth
To inherit it

You may ask
What is value?

How much money
Do you have in the bank?
What is the value
Of your house and car?
How much for the clothes
You are wearing?
Plus those jewelries
You are cherishing
That, my friend
Is not the definition
Of valuing yourself

We ignore the value within
And look for the value without
We seek that which
Cannot be found
In a treasure box
Beneath the deep blue seas
Because what is of utmost value
Is the core being
Of you and me

Love yourself
Respect yourself
And then you will be able
To value yourself

BROKEN WINGS

In this dark world of loneliness
I was consumed by thoughts
That no one cared
About me

Laden with anguish
Because of these:
Broken wings, broken dreams
And a broken heart
A broken soul, broken life
Torn apart
Shattered like glass
Both future and past
There were no answers
For all the questions that I asked

When you came along
And embraced me
I felt your healing powers
Vibrating through me

You changed my world
Transformed my life
And gave me a new heart
You healed my soul, my scars
And rid me
Of all fears and doubts

From a sorrowful life
To an awakening
That inspired the greatest of things

You have healed my broken wings
With your hands of love
And now I can freely soar
To the highest heights

My Life

I`d like to tell you my story
If you don`t mind
I won`t charge you a dollar
Or ask you for a coin

I`d like to tell you
How much I’ve been blind
Failing to see opportunities
From time to time

I`d like to share with you
My life of regrets
Wishing I could go back
And rearrange certain aspects

There is never a time
I don`t feel alone
Under-achieving and overgrown

My regular glance at the past
Caused me to lose focus
Of a future that is
Soon to pass

Who am I?
I often ask myself
Afraid to look in the mirror
Or I might see
Someone else

I looked for a change
But what should I expect
When the wheels of my life
Are running retrospect
